I don't mind it (it's my 3rd M car with ASD) after 3 naturally aspirated M cars without it, for me the new ones don't sound great and never can so I don't mind a bit of synthetic sound as it sounds OK, certainly better than fucking about with trying to keep the flaps open and spending thousands on exhausts that just sound crap but a bit louder IMHO.
